Vinay Kumar asked BJP to press central Govt for revenue deficit aid and disaster loss compensation for Himachal

State Congress President Vinay Kumar has accused the BJP of making unsuccessful attempts to mislead the people of the state by making baseless statements about the Union Budget and the closure of the revenue deficit grant by the 16th Finance Commission. He has said that Himachal Pradesh has been completely ignored in the Union Budget. He has also termed the closure of the revenue deficit grant as unconstitutional. He has said that special financial assistance should also be issued to Himachal Pradesh in lieu of conservation of forests and water to maintain natural resources and environment.
Vinay Kumar urged the BJP to appeal to its central leaders for revenue deficit grants, compensation for the state’s losses due to the disaster, in the state’s interest. He also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release the 1,500 crore rupees announced for disaster relief.
Vinay Kumar stated here today that the former BJP government is entirely to blame for the state’s economic crisis. He added that the state inherited liabilities of over 12,000 crore rupees and debts of over 75,000 crore rupees from the previous BJP government. Despite this, the Congress government has maintained the state’s development momentum with its limited resources. It has rehabilitated those affected by the disaster and compensated for their losses, as well as completed reconstruction work.
Vinay Kumar also urged all elected BJP MPs from the state to rise above party lines and help restore the revenue deficit grant and secure special financial assistance for the state. He said that the discontinuation of the revenue deficit grant could hinder the pace of development in the state, and therefore, they should advocate for the state’s rights before the central government.
