Vehicular traffic disrupted on Old Hindustan-Tibet National Highway 5 at many places, hundreds of vehicles stranded
Superintendent of Police Shimla Sanjay Gandhi said that NH-5 between Shimla – Solan – Parwanoo has been closed at Chakimod since last night. The highway is blocked by Command military police, between Shimla-Taradevi Tardevi and Shoghi.
Besides this National Highway -5 is also blocked between Theog – Narkanda Kumarsain at Taj Hotel, Kumarsain – Rampur nr Shannad, and between Rampur at Jakhari at Brouni Khud.
Beside this Shimla- Theog – Kotkhai Jubbal – Rohru Chirgaon is blocked at Chol, Theog – Deha – Chopal Nerwa – Kupvi is blocked at Bajroli Pulh.
Kharpathar-Tikkar, Gumma -Baghi, Chopal-Nerwa, Tikkar-Nerwa-Khamdi, Rampur-Tikkar, and Rampur-Sungri and Rohru road is open for light vehicle.
According to state police dozens of Deodar trees uprooted in Shimla town disrupted vehicular traffic Tutikandi – Phagli bypass at Tutikandi Bifurcation and Lalpani Bridge, Bamloe – Talland (Himland), Kennedy – Annandale Totu – Nalagarh ( nr new Totu) Road Shimla – Totu, Mehli – Junga Junga – Koti Mehli – Badagaon – Shoghi( Blocked at APG University and Shilgaon), Vikasnagar – SDA Complex – Kasumpti ( sinking of land) and Khalini -BCS – Vikas Nagar – Mehli(uprooting of a tree near CID Office.
NH 205 is also blocked between Shimla and Ghanati near Kufridhar.
The unprecedented rainfall again disrupted vehicular traffic between Kalka to Shimla and Shimla to Jakhari on old Hindustan-Tibet National Highway -5 at more than twelve places stranded hundreds of vehicles, the alternative roads including Shimla -Nalagarh and Solan-Kausoli- Parwanoo are also affected by the landslides.
