United front formed to protest in support of agrarian crisis

A Joint action Kisan Manch of various farmer organizations was constituted after a meeting at Kalibari Hall here today. 
The meeting was attended by the convenor of State Syunkat Kissan Manch Harish Chauhan, District CPI(M)Secretary Sanjay Chauhan, local MLA Rakesh Singha, Vikaramadity Singh,  Himachal Kisan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, Aam Adami Party leader SS  Jogta, Zilla Parishad member Vishal Shangta, former Zilla Parishad member, Neelam Serek, Harish Janartha etc. 
MLAs Shri Vikramaditya Singh and Rakesh Singha also expressed their views in this meeting. The forum decided by consensus in this meeting would be held protest on 13th September, 2021 at Tehsil, Block and Subdivision level, 
” If the government still does not accept the demands, then a big demonstration would be held on 26th September, 2021. The problems of farmers and apple growers discussed in this meeting. 
The statement issued after the meeting said that  89 percent of the people in the state live in villages and the main source of employment and livelihood of most of them is agriculture and horticulture. ”
They said that due to the crisis of agriculture in the country,  farmers and gardeners of the state are also in distress.The cost of production in agriculture is increasing continuously and farmers and apple growers are not getting remunerative  prices for their produce. 
They said that agarian the crisis is increasing unemployment and posing a threat to livelihood. The entry of big corporate  in the horticulture sector, the agrarian crisis became deeper as the farmers and apple growers are not getting good prices.

The speakers said in the meeting that the Rs 5000 crore apple economy in the state is facing major challenges . Though number of market yards increased exponentially but the role and control of state institutions are become negligible, 
The APMC is the only body entrusted with the responsibility of development of the market yards only protecting the interests of the farmers, however in last few years APMCs could not fulfill their responsibility.  The farmers and apple growers are not getting fair prices in the Mandis and their exploitation has increased. 
As the  farmers and apple growers are not getting fair prices in these market yards due to poor management of APMC, After selling of the crop apple growers are not even paid on time as per law. Many farmers and apple growers are still not paid by the Commission agents(arhtiyas) and buyers for many years.
