Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shantanu Thakur visited Gushaini, Tirthan and Sainj under Banjar Assembly Constituency. The Minister of State said that I visited Banjar Assembly and assessed the damage caused in the areas affected by natural disasters. During this, I also heard the problems of the disaster victims. He said that Himachal has been badly affected due to floods. The patience of the people of Himachal in this difficult time is inspiring. Under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are committed to restore normalcy as soon as possible.
He said that from 20 June to 12 September, 386 people have lost their lives. 451 people have been injured. 41 people are still missing. During this period, 168 people have died in road accidents. 538 concrete and 834 kutcha houses have been completely damaged in the state. 1878 concrete and 4005 kutcha houses have been partially damaged. This is a huge loss for Himachal Pradesh which can never be compensated. A few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Himachal Pradesh and he also met the disaster affected families of Himachal Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows and understands the pain of the people. Immediately Modi ji gave relief of Rs 1500 crore to Himachal Pradesh and also issued appropriate orders to the state government and the central government.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has given an amount of Rs. 3190.39 crores in SDRF fund in 11 years as compared to Rs. 947.408 crores in 10 years of Congress government. Whereas the Modi Government has given Rs. 2,684.88 crores to Himachal in NDRF fund as compared to Rs. 553.285 crores in 10 years of Congress government.
