Under 14 sports competition started in Peeran amidst heavy rain
Due to heavy rains, the sports competition for the under 14 students of Mashobra block started on Sunday at Government Senior Secondary School Peeran. 350 players from 24 schools of Mashobra block are participating in this four-day zonal level sports competition. Due to heavy rains, the march past parade of the players could not take place. Due to continuous rains, the organizers and players of the tournament looked very disappointed. The competition was inaugurated by Dr. NK Kaushik, retired Director of Medical Education and Research, IGMC. He said that sports have great importance in student life, which not only helps in physical, mental and intellectual development of children, but also instills in children a sense of competition, leadership, hard work, cooperation as well as patriotism.
Mashobra block sports in-charge Nandlal Sharma said that volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, badminton, judo and cultural competitions will be organized in this sports competition for students. He said that in case of rain, indoor competitions will be organized smoothly and other competitions will be organized on trial level at the district level.
Earlier, the principal of the local school, Devinda Chauhan, welcomed the chief guest and gave detailed information about the program. On this occasion, the chief guest was honored with a Himachali cap, muffler and a souvenir.
Principal of Janedghat School Dr. Sohan Ranta, retired bank manager Mohan Verma, Ex President Dayaram Verma, players and physical teachers from various schools participated in the program.
