Two-day awareness camp organized on anemia, malnutrition, mental health for GSSS, Junga and Janedghat

Under the National Adolescent Health Programme, a two-day awareness camp was organized for school children in the age group of 10 to 19 years in Government Senior Secondary School, Junga and Janedghat. Which, apart from health consultant Praveen Sharma of Health Department Junga, women health workers Vandana Kapoor and Kamlesh gave information to the children about anemia, malnutrition, mental health, gender discrimination, menstruation, and sugar and blood pressure.
Health consultant Praveen Sharma said that in this two-day camp, 40 children from five schools Pendli, Shathali, Bhadech, Purana Junga, and Junga Schools, and 45 children from six schools Peeran, Dublu, Lakhothi, Dera Dawahi, and TRAI School in Janedghat will participate. Trained as Peer Educator. In which two children from each class from 6th to 12th class were included. He said that peer educator children will give information to the teacher about the health-related problems of other children in their class. He said that in the present context, children are becoming the biggest victims of depression. Detailed information was also given about the mental health of these children.
Vandana Kapoor and Kamlesh gave information to the female students in Janedghat about maintaining necessary hygiene during menstruation. Apart from this, light was thrown on the inclusion of coarse grains in a balanced diet, symptoms of anemia, diabetes, and blood pressure, etc.
Dr. Sohan Ranta, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Janedghat, while expressing his gratitude to the Health Department, said that in the future too, such awareness programs should be organized in educational institutions so that children can be enlightened about health.
