Tunnels and bridges will be built in Himachal with modern technology, roads will be repaired soon: Harsh
BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan made a courtesy call on Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi. On this occasion, Harsh Mahajan discussed in detail with Union Minister Gadkari about the tragedy in Himachal Pradesh. Harsh Mahajan told the Union Minister that Himachal Pradesh has suffered heavy losses and it is very important to work on the ground. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari assured the Rajya Sabha MP that serious work will be done on tunnels and bridges in Himachal Pradesh. Relief will be provided to Himachal Pradesh by using as many tunnels and bridges as possible. A tunnel has also been proposed and approved in Pandoh of Mandi district, work on which will start soon.
The Union Minister informed that IIT Roorkee and other institutions have been appointed as consultants for Himachal Pradesh, who will do the work of designing and redesigning these tunnels and bridges in Himachal Pradesh. In the coming time, there will be a big change in the working of NHAI and by adopting modern technology, there will be strong work in terms of roads in Himachal Pradesh. He also said that whatever damage has been done to the roads in Himachal Pradesh will be repaired with immediate effect.
Rajya Sabha MP Harsh Mahajan also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah for the way they have sent money to Himachal Pradesh in view of disaster, Himachal Pradesh is getting great benefit from it. The high-level committee headed by Union Minister Amit Shah has already approved an outlay of Rs 2006.40 crore to Himachal Pradesh for rehabilitation and reconstruction in areas affected by disasters like floods, landslides and cloudbursts for the year 2023. The first installment of Rs 451.44 crore has also been released on July 7, 2025. We request the state government to make good use of whatever money is coming from the Center, the money should be spent at the right place and on the right person.
