Trekkers missing killed
Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur Apoorva Devgan said that out of 11 trekkers ( missed at Lamkhaga passes on Harshil to Chitkul trekking route on Oct 19 while coming to Himachal from Uttarkashi) bodies of two trekkers out of four missing were brought by ITBP and police team to Sangla on Saturday.
He said that post-mortem of both the dead bodies was conducted at Community Health Center Sangla today .
Deputy Commissioner said that both of them have been identified, out of which one was related to Uttarkashi and the other was related to West Bengal.
He said that one dead body has been sent to Uttarkashi by District Administration Kinnaur today.
Administeration has sent another body to Shimla by vehicle to handed over to the next of kin of the deceased.
Apoorva Devgan informed that the search for the remaining two missing trekkers would continue by the ITBP personnel in the high altitude.
District spokesperson told us that current spell of rain and snow in the district hampering the search operation as it was snowing on the Lamkhaga passes and other high ranges of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand presently.
It is noteworthy that in the past, 11 trekkers were out on trekking from Uttarkashi to Chitkul, who were stuck in the Lamkhaga pass due to snowfall.
After having information about them relief and rescue operations were carried out by the district administration with the help of army helicopters and ITBP personnel.
32 jawans including mountaineers af Army and ITBP had rescued only two tourists safely on October 21.
Search operation is continued from Thursday to Saturday successful in finding the bodies of seven trekkers at different places.
The rescue teams were successful in finding two bodies on 22 October. Now Rescue would be launch after improvement in the Weather to trace the missing remained two trekkers however chances of remaining them alive inhospitable Weather are negligible, he added
