Tourist resort Kufri, Manali & Narkanda receives first snowfall of season

All major tourist resort including Manali, Kufri and Narkanda received first major snowfall in the day today as sky was overcast till this afternoon. Indian Meterogical Department recorded five cm snow at tourist resort Manali , Tourist resort Kufri and Narkanda received three to four cm snowfall. Kalpa recorded 0.4 cm snowfall. Bhuntar had three mm and Kangra one mm. The fresh snowfall and light rain fall ended two months dry spell but more rain or snowfall likely to give major respite to farmers who are still waiting major rain and Snowfall in rest of state to saw the Rabi crops. Due to insufficient soil moisture farmers in mid and high reaches could not saw their fields sofar. Hospitality industry was already booming on the new year and Christmas season likely to make silver with fresh snowfall and light rain as heavy footfall is being witnessed in Shimla, Manali and Dalhousie for the season. The tourist vehicles during checking in and checking out period in the hotel are choking Shimla Tourist resort causing trouble to local residents. Apple Growers are also waiting snowfall and rain for long time as they could start fertilization and making plants beds in the winter season. All the kachha (unmettled) road also wreaking hovac in state as dry spell is causing dust pollution.
