To benifit corporate Himachal Govt silent spectator over crashing apple market :Cong

The state unit of Congress party today blamed Jai Ram Thakur Government for remaining silent spectator over the crashing of apple market so that big corporate houses and middlemen could render silver business out of the ruins of farmers .
Addressing a media persons at Congress state headquarter Rajiv Bhavan here today Himachal Pradesh Congress President Mr Kuldeep Singh Rathore said  state Govt have exposed the way Adani Agrifreshfixed the rate of apple arbitrarily slashing down the market sentiment in the mid of market season.
Jai Ram Government seemed to be moving on the footsteps of Narendra Modi’s Govt policies to stand with big businessmen and the middleman vis-a-vis distressed apple growers and farmers in the nation.

As every person knows today, the Modi led government benefited only a few crony businessmen such as Ambani and Adani.
“The state govt follows the model as no relief is being provided to the apple growers due to fall in the prices of the crop and all the decisions are only benefiting Adani and other big traders.
Further, the BJP minister who has been given the charge of horticulture department doesn’t have knowledge of the sector neither does he seem interested,” he added.
HPCC president stated that Adani group was given land lease for setting up cold storage units with 85 per cent subsidy and it was pre-condition of the contract that they will protect the interests of the apple growers.
But it was not the case now as the group had offered less prices for premium crops as compared to last yearand it was not the case when Congress was in power in the state.
In addition, the policies of HP Horticulture Produce and Marketing Corporation (HPMC) were also against the farmers as it had further rented out its cold storage units to businessmen.
HPMC should have benefited the farmers by letting them store their produce in the CA stores as these were constructed through the funds provided by the Union Commerce ministry.
He criticized urban development minister Suresh Bhardwaj over his derogatory remarks on him and said the minister shouldn’t test his patience by making such remarks which were against parliamentary norms.
Rathore even criticized BJP leaders’ statement on creation of new districts and said the plan seemed to be aimed at upcoming bypolls and assembly elections as the government had sensed its defeat in these elections.
He criticised the govt for holding Janmanch when people inf the state are facing the threat of third wave of Covid pandemic in Himachal.
