Thunag-Seraj in Crisis, Lives Shattered: Himalayan Niti Abhiyan seeks for immediate aerial survey

The relentless disaster in Thunag and Seraj has left behind more than just collapsed homes and flooded streets—it has torn through the very fabric of the community. Families now huddle under open skies, their belongings buried under debris, while dwindling food supplies deepen their despair. With mobile networks dead, many are cut off from the outside world, their voices unheard.

Guman Singh & Hem Singh from Himalayan Niti Abhiyan and other Locals are pleading for immediate aerial surveys and military support to assess the true scale of destruction and speed up relief efforts. “We need help now, not tomorrow,” says a shaken resident. The Indian Meteorological Department’s warning of more rain in the next 24 hours has only added to the fear—time is running out.
