Three tourists died due to drowning in Yamuna river

A heartbreaking news is coming from Paonta Sahib Gurudwara Ghat Yamuna River. In which there is news of three people drowning. Let us tell you that in ten years more than 56 people have lost their lives by drowning in Yamuna. Out of the devotees who came to visit Paonta Sahib on Friday evening, three devotees went to take a bath in Yamuna and drowned in it. At present, all three bodies have been recovered. It is being told that Dhirendra Singh, Ajit, and Abhishek, all three are residents of Dera Bassi.

Let us tell you that in the last 10 years, more than 56 people have lost their lives by drowning in the Yamuna River, most of whom are young and below 18 years of age. It is very surprising that till now more than 56 people have lost their lives by drowning in the Yamuna, but no public representative has taken the responsibility of preventing these painful accidents seriously nor has any work been done on the ground regarding safety. For information, let us tell you that a proposal has been made to install nets and chains for safety to save the lives of people on the Yamuna River, but to date, no work has been started on it seriously.

Even about 9 years ago, former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had proposed 10 lakh rupees to build a ghat here, but to date, no one has an answer as to what happened to that money. SDM Gunjit Cheema has also reached the spot regarding this entire matter. He had entrusted the task of finding the bodies to the local divers. The divers have recovered all three bodies. The police have registered a case and taken the bodies into custody.
