The people of Shillai area have been demanding a bigger hospital for a long time but the government did not pay any heed. People of the area have to go to Shimla or Chandigarh for treatment due to which the treatment becomes very expensive. This pain of the public came to the fore during the Aam Aadmi Party’s Parivartan Yatra. Along with this, the education system in Shillai area is in bad shape. There is a shortage of teachers in dozens of schools in the area. In many schools only one teacher is teaching five classes. At least there should be teachers so that the education of the children can be better. In the public dialogue, people told that more than 70 percent of the schools in the area do not have playgrounds, library facilities are not even in any school. In the 21st century, the government is talking about Digital India but there is no system of computer education for children in government schools. The rotten roads are opening up to the government’s claims of development in the area. During the Parivartan Yatra, it was revealed in the road show that the condition of the roads is very bad. The condition of the main road from Paonta to Shillai and Ronhat is very poor. The people of the area have been demanding from the local representatives to the Chief Minister to build hospitals as well as recruit teachers in schools and improve the dilapidated roads, but the public is not being heard. Due to which the public is now very angry with the functioning of the state government.

There is no vegetable market to sell to vegetable growers, they do not get the fair price of the crop.

Sirmaur district of Shimla parliamentary constituency is a vegetable growing area. Thousands of farmers produce vegetables in Shillai assembly constituency as well. It has been a demand of the people of the area for a long time that a vegetable market should be made in the area to sell the vegetables grown in the fields, so that the farmers can sell their vegetables, but the government has not yet set up a vegetable market. Agriculture is the source of income of the people in the Shillai assembly. There is a lot of production of vegetables here but there is no vegetable market to sell it, which is a big problem. Due to lack of vegetable market, people have to come to Chandigarh or Solan to sell their vegetables, in which expenditure is high and vegetables also have to be sold at low prices.
