The case of roofs of five families being blown away due to strong winds and storm has come to light in Junga Tehsil last night. Tehsildar Junga Narayan Singh Verma said that the most damage due to strong winds has been caused to the house of Punni Devi of Dhali Bagda village of Peeran Panchayat. Whose roof was blown away and she also got injured during the roof collapse. This family has been provided an amount of five thousand rupees as immediate relief for treatment and tarpaulin to cover the roof temporarily. Apart from this, the roofs of Virendra’s cowshed in Shilli village, Amar Singh’s cowshed in Bharandi Talab, Tarsem of Dublu village and Vidyadat’s house in Dublu Jot village were partially blown away. The damage is being assessed.
Peeran Panchayat Pradhan Kiran Sharma said that the poor family of widow Punni Devi in ​​Dhali Bagda was devastated when the roof blew away at midnight. The Pradhan and the local people arranged for the family to stay at Gyan Singh’s house at midnight. It was told that the total number of Punni Devi’s family members is 12 who are living in just two small rooms.
He told that due to strong winds, their house has suffered a loss of about 60 thousand. All the household items have also been damaged due to rain. This family comes under the BPL category and the Gram Panchayat has taken up the matter with the Block Development Officer and the Social Justice and Empowerment Department for sanctioning a new house. The Tehsil Welfare Officer Shimla Rural has also personally inspected their kutcha house by visiting the spot. Apart from this, the opportunity for their house has also been shown under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, but for the past few years, this family has not received a single penny in the name of building a house.
Pradhan Kiran Sharma has requested the state government to provide financial assistance to the family for building a house.
