The relief package given by Himachal Pradesh government is just an illusion of figures: Rajiv

BJP state vice president and former minister Rajeev Sehjal said that the relief package given by the Himachal Pradesh government is just an illusion of figures and it was impossible to make this relief package without the help of the central government.

He said that the way the Central Government has provided assistance to the Himachal Government in this time of disaster. With his help, the state government created this relief package by playing with numbers, which is tantamount to throwing dust in the eyes of the people of the state.

He said that in this package, the assistance amount of more than 2000 crores is given by the Central Government, which includes 1000 crores of MNREGA, 100 crores of Housing Scheme, 403 crores 53 lakhs of National Disaster Response Fund, 360 crores under State Disaster Response Fund. 80 lakh, under the State Disaster Mitigation Fund, an amount of Rs. 85 crore 60 lakh has been provided directly to Himachal Pradesh by the Central Government.

Apart from this, about Rs 2700 crore was sent by the Center for the construction of roads and bridges in Himachal Pradesh through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Even in Himachal Pradesh, MLA funds were stopped and made a part of this relief package. The amount of Rs 225 crore given by the general public to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund was also directly included in this relief package.

He said that the construction of National Highway four lanes and bridges is also being done by the Central Government at many places. During the Kullu tour, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave Rs 400 crore to Himachal in view of the disaster and after that all these roads are being repaired. Its expenses are also being borne by the Central Government.

He said that the state government is only misleading the public regarding the relief package, is telling lies and is continuously trying to make its lies the truth by telling lies one after the other.

Dr. Rajeev Sehjal said that the state was hit by the disaster, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party has played an important role, the elected representatives of BJP worked with the administration and took the people to safe places. But it is a matter of regret that the Sukhu government kept teaching the lesson of unity but in return was seen cursing the BJP. From the Chief Minister to the lower level leaders kept cursing the central government. He said that in order to express its views, the state government did not exercise self-control and kept making unrestrained statements.

The state government could not think of a way to ask for a relief package for the disaster affected people from the central government. If a draft for disaster relief fund for Himachal had also been prepared, lobbying could have been done at the Centre.
