Himachal Kisan Morcha President Sanjeev Deshta has demanded that the government to clarify the entire situation on Universal Carton. Because till now there is a lot of confusion among the gardeners on this matter. He said that Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi is saying that necessary amendments will be made in the Act to implement Universal Carton this season. He raised questions that the government has not done anything on this matter yet. Because Lok Sabha elections are about to be held and model code of conduct is going to be imposed for it. In such a situation, it is not clear when the government will make amendments. Therefore, they demand that the government should disclose the steps taken to prepare for the apple season.
Sanjeev Deshta said that everything of the Congress government is false and misleading like their guarantees. Today, Congress is making announcements without thinking to cover up the embarrassment that the government is facing due to internal divisions and infighting across the state. He said that Lok Sabha elections are ahead and the Model Code of Conduct will be implemented at any time. Might be possible. By the time the elections are over, the month of June will pass and the apple season will begin across the state. In such a situation, the government should clarify what is the roadmap of the government.
Taking the government to task, he said, what happened to the way the government had announced last year that the growers will decide the price of their apples themselves? Due to the chaos seen in the markets last year, traders thought it best to move out of the state. He said that if the government truly wants to implement universal carton, then the entire situation in this regard should be clarified in time so that the gardeners of the state do not get misled by the government’s words like last year and do not suffer loss. He said that if the government does not clarify the situation in this regard in time, then the Kisan Morcha will not shy away from agitating against the government.
