The BJP Government intentionally pushed Himachal in financial crises

Ridiculing the statement of the leader of the opposition Jai Ram Thakur on the fiscal condition of the State Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Sunder Singh Thakur and Sanjay Awasthy in a joint statement issued here today said that it seems that the former Chief Minister has forgotten his regime, wherein the BJP Government intentionally pushed the State in financial crises.

They reminded Jai Ram Thakur of the 75 thousand crore rupees loan which they had taken to run the State. Today, the former Chief Minister, to hide his misdeed is making statements regarding the loan taken by the present Government. We want to remind him that apart from the loan of around 76 thousand crore they have also cheated the employees of the State Government and refrained from paying the benefit of the sixth pay commission which was around 11 thousand crore rupees.

The duo said that it was the BJP Government which has drowned the state in debt and he has no right to point out the present Government which is making sincere efforts to generate the resources from the existing assets. The BJP Government had sold the interest of the State to few whereas the present Congress Government has amassed sufficient income from the liquor vends and has imposed water cess to generate revenue from its rich hydel resources.

They said that present fiscal crises in the State was due to the economic mismanagement of the previous double engine BJP government, be it the issue of imposing hurdles in imposing water cess to generate revenue or the States share to be received by the state from BBMB, the BJP and the Central Government have created obstacles in it.

Thousands of JOA (IT) candidates are suffering because of lackadaisical approach of the previous BJP Government the consequences of which were being faced by thousand of youth till date. Jai Ram has no moral right to question the same. It was during Jai Ram Thakur the tenure that there were malicious attempts to sell jobs to the favourites and depriving the eligible youth of jobs. Despite the corrupt practices revealed, Jai Ram Government sheltered Staff Selection Commission Hamirpur, the recruitment agency, which had become den of corruption.

To provide employment and self-employment to the youth, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has started Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme of Rs 680 crore, they said.

It seems that Jai Ram Thakur is carrying the wounds of his crushing defeat in the assembly elections a year ago and out of frustration, he is airing unfounded statements to remain in existence. Today, the BJP leaders were pretending to be employee friendly but they have forgotten that the biggest movement of NPS employees in the State goes down in the annals of history as a black spot on BJP. Jai Ram Thakur will be remembered only for unleashing water cannons on the workers and crushing the movement with force, instead of meeting the agitating employees with their demand for OPS, just 100 meters away from the Vidhan Sabha. A large number of women folk were forced to join these employees along with their children. He will ever be remembered for crushing the rights of the employees and his statement that ’employees can fight the elections to get a pension.

Our Government provided OPS to 1.36 lakh employees to fulfill their dreams, they reiterated.

They said that Jai Ram Thakur and the BJP leaders of the state remained silent on the discriminatory attitude of the Centre during the disaster in the state and did not even muster the courage to support the resolution passed in the Assembly to declare natural calamity as National Disaster and failed to convince their Central Aakas for a special relief package to the State during disaster.

The State Government has organized Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana, Sarkar Janta Ke Dwar, and Revenue Lok Adalats. The present Government worked to provide much-needed relief to the poor and underprivileged. In such a situation, the people of the state have full faith in the leadership of Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and are ready to contribute to making Himachal economically self-reliant and the most prosperous state of the country.
