SW Monsoon confines to isolated places in Himachal, Mercury abnormally high 

The South West Monsoon rain eluded most places as it was confined to isolated places in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday however the day temperature remained anonrally high in the state. According to the Indian Meteorological Department the Nahan in Siramur district had 49 mm rain followed by the Sarhali Khud of Bilaspur recorded 32/4 mm rain and Berthing in Bilaspur 23.5 mm,toursit resort Narkanda had nine mm, Skihshrine city Paonta Sabhib 10 mm, Light rainfall also reported in Tourist resort Manali and Kufuri in the state.

Monsoon activities are likely to remain partly dormant and widespread in the state as light rainfall is forecast in a few places along Beas and Satluj catchment areas in the state. The thick fog and low clouds may affect the visibility conditions and air transport in the state as the sky was mainly cloudy in the state. The minimum temperature of Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was lowest at 11/3 degrees and the Maximum temperature of Paonta Sahib was 37 degrees which was the highest in the state.

IMD also forecasts light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hrs however Monsoon activity may increase on September 14 to 16 as a yellow alert has been sounded However no change in the current weather is likely to take place till the next 24 hrs.
