Summerhill School won the trophy in the football competition
The district-level Under-19 boys football competition, which had been going on for the past two days at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, concluded. Summerhill School defeated Rohru Boys 3-0 in the final to win the trophy. Tehsildar Junga Narayan Singh Verma attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and presented trophies to the winners and runners-up.
In his address, he stated that sports are crucial to student life. While sports foster physical, intellectual, and mental development, they also foster a sense of hard work, competition, leadership, social service, and mutual cooperation, all of which help children achieve their life goals.
Earlier, Mahesh Sharma, Principal of the local school, welcomed the chief guest and honored him with a memento. He reported that 118 children from eight senior secondary schools participated in the two-day district-level Under-19 football tournament.
Sports in-charge Rajkumar, stage operator Hansraj and PET Suman Chauhan along with other physical teachers had a special contribution in organizing this competition.
