Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu joined the nomination of Hardeep Singh Baba
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that all the three independent former MLAs have become slaves of BJP after being sold. After selling their integrity, they resigned from the post of MLA. If they had not sold themselves in the political market of BJP, then why would the independent MLAs resign from their posts. They have taken money, so the independent former MLAs are forced to kneel before BJP.
The Chief Minister was addressing the nomination rally of Congress candidate Hardeep Singh Baba here. Earlier, the Chief Minister got Hardeep Singh’s nomination papers filed. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said in the rally that the contest in Nalagarh is between the rich and the talented. This election is for political integrity and cleanliness. Therefore, send Hardeep Singh Baba to the Assembly by electing him. Whatever work Baba brings, it will be done. The face of Nalagarh will be changed in three and a half years.
He said that former MLA of Nalagarh KL Thakur is running to the High Court to get a stay on his crusher. But, he never ran to Shimla to solve the problems of the public. He used to come only for his personal work, I myself did the development work in Nalagarh. After being sold, the former MLA did not come to his assembly constituency Nalagarh for a month. Now with what face is he asking for votes again, the public had elected him as MLA. Why did he need to resign in 14 months? He was an independent, he could have gone with the BJP anyway, but he had to resign from the post of MLA under the pressure of the money he had taken by selling his integrity.
The Chief Minister said that Jairam Thakur will come back and lie, but his government is not going to be formed in the state. The number of Congress MLAs has increased to 38. We will cross the 40 mark by winning all three seats of the by-election. BJP’s lies and deceit will not work. We have given ticket to honest Hardeep Baba, not to the one who sells. BJP candidate KL Bike can never be a true well-wisher of the public. One who trades the sentiments of the public cannot be a true servant. We did a lot of work for the independent MLAs, because they had reached the Vidhan Sabha as the voice of the public. But, they sold themselves. After they resigned, we thought that they would come to their senses in three months and would go to the Speaker and take it back, but they sat on a dharna, went to the High Court. Because they had a deal with the BJP.
Hardeep Baba used to tell me earlier that KL Thakur will not stay with Congress and will run away. I did not listen to him, but Baba’s words proved to be true. The independent former MLA is now trying to become MLA by contesting elections on BJP ticket, while he knows that BJP will not form the government. After resigning, he used to say that his work was not done in the Congress government. Whereas the public knows that he started the work that was stuck in all three assembly constituencies since the time of the previous government. The people of Nalagarh should not make any mistake this time, because the fight of money power is with the people’s power. No matter how much lies clash with the truth, in the end the truth wins. The former MLA of Nalagarh will come among you to ask for votes, he will also give money. You should not refuse him, take double the money from him and vote for Congress. KL Thakur has received briefcases full of money from BJP.
The Chief Minister said that our government does not work keeping elections in mind. We did not give Rs 1500 to women and employees under the Old Pension Scheme for votes. This was our commitment, which we have fulfilled. We do what we say. Our government has fulfilled 5 out of 10 guarantees in a tenure of 16 months. The government will fulfill all the guarantees and make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant by 2027.
Expressing faith in the policies of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh, many BJP officials and workers joined the Congress. The Chief Minister made dozens of BJP members join the Congress by garlanding them. Congress State President Pratibha Singh made all BJP officials and workers wear the Congress Party’s sash.
