Sukhu government worked beyond guarantees: Goma

Himachal Pradesh government’s Sports and Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma has said that the present state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has gone beyond fulfilling the guarantees. He said that out of the 10 guarantees given during the assembly elections, five guarantees have been fulfilled in just two years of tenure. He said that in the very first cabinet, fulfilling the demand of government employees, the present state government restored the old pension scheme, so that they can live a life with self-respect in old age. He said that the state government has also fulfilled the promise made to women and has started a scheme to provide them a Samman Nidhi of Rs 1500 per month, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu from Lahaul-Spiti district. As soon as this scheme was started, BJP’s anti-women attitude came to the fore and BJP leaders reached the doors of the Election Commission to stop Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Samman Nidhi. He said that the mothers and sisters of the state are watching this opposition of BJP leaders and will not sit silent.

Goma said that the present state government while fulfilling the third guarantee, has started the Rajiv Gandhi Swarojgar Start-up Fund of Rs 680 crore for unemployed youth. Under this 50 percent subsidy is being provided for the purchase of e-taxi. Apart from this, government assistance is being provided to the youth to install solar plants on private land, under which they will be able to install solar plants up to 100 kW, 200 kW, and 500 kW. He said that the Chief Minister has taken many effective steps in his budget to strengthen the rural economy, which will ensure the prosperity of farmers, gardeners, and animal breeders. Himachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to give minimum support price for milk. Fulfilling the fifth guarantee, the government has decided to start English medium education in schools from class 1 from this academic session.

The Sports Minister said that the people of the state know that Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu can take decisions in the interest of the state, that is why he has worked beyond the guarantees. Mukhyamantri Sukhashray Yojana has been started for orphan children, a scheme to bear the expenses of education of children of widows and single women. Along with this, the state government is also providing them with financial assistance of Rs 1.50 lakh for building houses. The Chief Minister has taken care of the welfare of every section, from laborers to the poor, in the budget. He said that in the elections, the current state government will go among the people with the work done in the last one and a quarter years and the people of the state will approve the policies of the Congress government.
