Students of Himachal Pradesh University Law Department Visit District Jail Kathu

Students from the Law Department of Himachal Pradesh University today visited District Jail Kathu as part of an academic tour. During this visit, the students gathered information about the conditions of inmates serving sentences for various crimes.

Over 110 students from the fourth semester of the Law Department at Himachal Pradesh University visited the District Jail in Kathu. During the tour, Assistant Professors Dr. Sasha Chauhan and Dr. Vandana Thakur were also present with the students.

The Superintendent of District Jail Kathu addressed the students and took them on a detailed tour of the jail, explaining the daily routine of the prisoners. Jail officials showed the students the various rehabilitation programs being conducted for inmates to help them reintegrate into society and establish their livelihoods after release.

The officials emphasized that no one is born a criminal. Sometimes, circumstances lead to crimes, but efforts are made within the jail to prepare inmates for a normal social life upon their return.
