Students at Dublu School learn life-saving skills on disaster management
In memory of the devastating Kangra earthquake of 1905, a comprehensive awareness program on disaster management was organized at Government Senior Secondary School W in Junga tehsil. The event not only imparted theoretical knowledge to the students but also taught them life-saving skills through practical training.
During the program, students donned helmets and reflective jackets to practice realistic disaster scenarios. Successful drills were conducted, including drop, cover, and hold techniques, as well as emergency evacuation. In particular, the process of transporting the injured to safety via stretcher was demonstrated, providing the children with valuable insight into relief and rescue operations.
Presiding over the program, Acting Principal Kapil Sharma stated that disaster management is a vital necessity in today’s times, and knowledge of it plays a crucial role in every student’s life. Calling such events a necessity, he said that awareness and training are the most powerful means of mitigating the impact of disasters. This program will not only be informative for students but also an important step toward preparing them for future challenges and preparing them for them.
The entire school staff was present on this occasion and worked together to make the event a success. Under the guidance of their teachers, the students displayed excellent discipline, promptness, and a spirit of cooperation.
