The Constitution Pride Campaign’s state-level event unfolded at Shimla’s iconic Peterhof, with Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh delivering the keynote address. Union Minister Slams Congress for Misusing Ambedkar’s Legacy
In his address, Union Minister Jitendra Singh took a sharp dig at Congress, accusing it of hypocrisy regarding Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy. “The same Congress leaders who once sidelined Baba Saheb are now projecting themselves as his admirers for mere vote-bank politics,” Singh remarked. He alleged that Congress and its “toolkit gang” distort statements of BJP leaders to create societal divisions, fostering an environment of distrust. Singh further stated that Congress leaders, disheartened by electoral defeats, have turned democratic institutions into platforms for their conspiracies. He lauded Dr. Ambedkar for shaping an inclusive Constitution and empowering marginalized sections, emphasizing that BJP upholds his values and principles.

BJP State President Highlights Congress’s Contradictory Stance on the Constitution
Dr. Rajeev Bindal, BJP’s state president, accused Congress of disrespecting the very Constitution it claims to defend. “While Ambedkar and his team gave us the Constitution, Congress has amended it over 100 times to suit its agenda. Today, the party calls it a hollow book and misleads the public with this narrative,” Bindal said. He further criticized Congress for manipulating the Constitution over decades to further caste and religious politics, solely for electoral gains.

Jairam Thakur Calls Out Congress’s Historical Missteps
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur shed light on Dr. Ambedkar’s unwavering commitment to Dalit rights and his opposition to Congress’s policies. Thakur accused Congress of sidelining Dalits to appease other communities. Highlighting the Kashmir issue, he recalled Ambedkar’s foresight in opposing Congress’s approach, which he believed would only worsen the problem. Thakur also pointed out Nehru’s failure to protect Hindu interests during that era, terming it a “historic blunder.” He emphasized that Ambedkar had often resisted Congress’s divisive policies, which continue to haunt the nation.
