State GDP to grow at the rate of 8.3 pc in FY 2021-22 

Himachal Pradesh state GDP projected to grow at 8.3 per cent in the current financial year 2021-22 after squeezing to minus 5.2 growth rate in last financial year, this was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur who hold the portfolio of finance tabling the state economic survey of year 2021 -22 in assembly on Thursday. Mr Thakur said that as par advance estimates GDP to grow at the rate of  8.3 per cent in 2021-22 after freezing to minus 5.2 in fy 2020-21. GDP at current prices in the year 2021-22 is estimated at Rs 1,75,173 crore compared to the GDP of 1,56,675 Cr in the previous year. Per Capita Income at current prices is estimated at 2,01,854 compared to around Rs 183000 of previous year .Chief Minister said that national per capita income for 2020-21 estimated Rs. 51,528 only.  The growth in Per Capita Income during 2021-22 is estimated at 10.1 per cent . The Primary sector Agriculture and allied sectors to grow by 8.7 per cent in 2021-22 mainly attributed due to 11.9 per cent increase in horticulture production.  He said that Industry would grow at the rate of 11 pc in 2021-22 after contracting by 6.6 PC  in 2020-21.  The service sector is estimated to grow by 6.3 per cent during 2021-22 following last year’s 2.1 per cent as the sector has been the hardest hit by the pandemic .  The tourism sectors likely to witnessed footfall of 5637102 tourists including 5632270 Indian and 4832 foreigners in year 2021 glowing at the  75.44 PC after crumbling to minus 81 pc in year 2020. The state recorded production of  697.96 metric ton of fruit in 2021-22 compared to the  624.49 MT of previous years.  State have 2,34,779 hectare area under fruit productions show increase of 1400 hectare.  state projected reduction in the productions tunes to 1593.92 MT in the coming year however currently it grow to 1675 MT from 1528.40 MT of previous year.  The power sector performs decimal as it have generated 1903.39 million unit in the state however it have purchased  9458.06 mu from Electricity purchased from BBMB & other States. State owned 27 hydro electric projects having installed capacity of 489.35 MW are under operation in HPSEBL. . The hill state have strength of 1,87,899  government employees 3,086 part times and 4,930 daily wagers.
