State claims improvisation of GST collection in Month of Dec

Himachal Pradesh economy falling in the trap of whooping debts and reliance of state onborrowings for the  developmental projects claimed improvement in the Good and Service taxes collections inthe last month of 3rd quarter of this financial year.
A spokesperson of Excise and Taxation department said here today that the department has collected Rs. 342 crores under GST in the month of December. The GST collections in the current financial year upto December,2021 stands at Rs. 3157.26 crores vis-a-vis Rs. 2370.45 crores during the same period of the last financial year. Department said that they have recorded increase of  33 per cent in the GS collection that of last financial year.
The department attribute various reforms and  initiatives including capacity building of tax officers, nudging non-filers after last date of filing of returns, performance monitoring of field functionaries, verification of e-way bills and input tax credit for the improvement in collections.

The of E& T department plans to organise tax haat program in the near future to furtherimprove the performance by way of voluntary compliance, he added.
