Solan-Rajgarh road turns into potholes, Dr. Parmar had constructed the road with laborers nearly 6 decades ago

The nearly six-decade-old Solan-Rajgarh-Meenas road has turned into potholes instead of being upgraded. The department is not taking any care about improving this road. Even after almost 60 years, the only road connecting the sub-divisional headquarters Rajgarh to Solan has not even got the status of State Highway. Till now this road has been kept in the category of MDR i.e. Major District Road by the government, whereas hundreds of vehicles pass on this road every day. Seeing the pathetic condition of the road, tourists coming from outside and devotees going to Barusahib from the Punjab region question the working style of the Himachal government and hesitate to come again. The most important thing is that no government of the state paid attention to this. Let us tell you that this road was built by Himachal builder Dr. YS Parmar with the help of laborers without machinery. The road which was built by Dr. Parmar with the help of laborers from Solan to Rajgarh Minas is in the same condition at present and there has been no increase in its upgradation.
Let us tell you that Congress was represented from the year 1982 to the year 2012 i.e. for thirty-five years. Congress MLA was also a minister and assembly speaker in the GR Musafir government. Similarly, Reena Kashyap has been the BJP MLA since 2012 and lives in Rajgarh city, which means no step has been taken by any public representative regarding the upgrade of this road. During the 2017 assembly elections, Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced to approval of 69 National Highways in the state, which included Solan-Rajgarh-Meenas Road. The former BJP government kept counting this issue of the National Highway as its achievement on every platform, which proved to be a jumla when the assembly elections were over. Apart from Solan Rajgarh Minas Road, none of the roads like Rajgarh Khairi Nahan, Rajgarh Habban Chandol, Sanora Neripul Chaila, etc. have been upgraded to date. Let us tell you that roads are the mirror of the development of any state. Good condition of roads also promotes tourism.
