Snowfall forecast in Lahaul Spiti : Admn sounds travel Advisory to Tourists

Lahaul Spiti district administration sounded travel Advisory to Tourists expected to visit the hill state, in-wake of Indian Meteorically department alert of heavy snowfall on Oct. 23 & 24 and again on Oct. 27 & 28 in the tribal areas of Lahaul Spiti and Kinnaur district.

Deputy commissioner Lahaul Spiti district Mr Neeraj Kumar said that Manali-Sarchu road has not opened yet and in this scenario if snowfall takes place as per weather forecast, it is likley to be closed till first week of November.

He said that National Highway no-3 between Manali-Leh Highway won’t open till 1st week of November for all types of vehicles.

𝗜𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 he said that people should contact 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺- TRAVEL ADVISORY

Heavy snowfall prediction exists on 23 and 24 October 2021 followed by snowfall again on 27th and 28th October 2021.
The Manali-Sarchu road has not opened yet and in this scenario if snowfall takes place as per weather forecast, it is likely to be closed till first week of November.

NH-3 Manali-Leh Highway won’t open till 1st week of November for all types of vehicles.
