Snowfall at high altitude in Himachal, frequent avalanche caused life &  property damage

High Reaches received light to moderate snowfall in last 24 hrs and frequent incidents of Avalanche in Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba and Kinnuar district district took four life and causing massive loss to property for last three days. In proportion to given scanty snowfall and Rain in the state witnessing more incidents of Avalanche, bridge collapse and landslide in the winter. In last three days two winter seasonal and inclement weather related incidents took four life, number of roads were affected by black ice, Landslide and Avalanches. An avalanche hit three BRO worker near Shriankula pass on Manali-Leh National all the three died in mishap. District Administration and BRO could not evacuated one of the victim from the Avalanche. Similarly a Bridge collapse on Tandi,-Chamba road on Saturday night killing a driver of truck in the spot. In Chamba district it is second bridge collapse hy the light rain and snowfall. State Disaster Management authority spokesperson confirmed that 148 roads and three National Highway, 200 Distribution Transformer Region and seven water lifting Scheme was affected by snowfall and black ice in the state.  Indian Meteorological Department recorded 3.4 cm fresh snowfall at Koksar in Lahaul-Spiti district 1.7 cm and one cm in Kukumseri and Keylong in last 24 hrs. Fresh rain shower along with light winds report in isolated places on Monday as Bharmaur (Chamba) had 12.3 mm rain, Banjar (Kullu) 3 mm, Pandoh (Mandi) 1.5 mm . The vehicular traffic was allowed on Manali-Keylong road for four by four vehicles. Report arriving from Keylong said that district was snowing and hampered Avalanche affected rescue operation at Shriankula pass. Police chief of District Manav Verma issued Advisory to local people and tourists advising to avoid unnecessary travel at night in bad weather, travel only in case of Minmum temperature was slightly higher than normal in the state improvising coldwave condition.  Keylong was minus 6.5 degrees Kalpa minus one,  Narkanda 0.3, Dalhousie 2.9 ,Kufri 3.1 l, Shimla 4.4 Solan and Manali 5.Bilaspur 7.5 , Bhuntar (Kullu Airport) 7.5, Jubbarhati (Shimla Airport), Dharamshala, Hamirpur, & Mandi 8 Una, Chamba,&  Nahan and Paonta Sahib 9 each and  Kangra 10.5 degrees.
