Snowbound Manali Leh road yet to be open

The work of opening the Manali Leh road is going on at a fast pace however vehicular traffic couldn’t restored yet, This was said by Deputy Commissioner Neeraj Kumar while presiding a meeting with the top officials of BRO at Keylong on Saturday.  District’s Administration Lahaul Spiti has appealed to the general public and tourists that the Manali-Leh road has not yet been restored for traffic. He said that BRO is busy opening the route at a fast pace but the road has not yet been restored completely as work is in progress in Sarchu and Baralacha passes to clear the snow.  He said that Manali-Leh road will open only after joint inspection of DC and  SP in the route. All tourists are requested not to travel on the said route for the time being and taxi drivers are also urged not to let tourists go on this route, he added.
