Sirmauri folk dances showcased in Him Mahotsav Delhi

World record holder and internationally renowned folk artist Dr. Jogendra Habibi told the press in a statement that the state government is organizing the Snow Festival from 1 to 15 January at Delhi Haat. The Snow Festival is being organized under the aegis of the Department of Industries, Himachal Craft, Tourism Department, Language and Culture Department.

Folk artists of the Chudeshwar Cultural Mandal, Pazhouta of the Hati tribal area, presented cultural programs under the direction of Dr. Jogendra Habib from 11th to 13th January under Hati ki Nati, including Thoda dance from the Mahabharata period, Rihalti Gee, Deepak dance, Munjra Nati, Parat dance, Rasa dance, Padhuan dance, Lambda dance and the almost five hundred year old Singhtu dance of Sirmaur, and received great applause from the audience from various states of India.

Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Shri Prabodh Saxena attended the cultural evening on January 11 as the chief guest and Industry Minister Shri Harsh Vardhan Chauhan was the chief guest at the cultural evening on January 13.

In the cultural program organized under Him Mahotsav, as per the instructions of Director Language and Culture Department Dr. Pankaj Lalit and under the supervision of Assistant Director Bihari Lal Sharma, cultural evenings were organized by the Language and Culture Department, in which apart from Sirmaur, folk artists from districts like Shimla, Kinnaur, Hamirpur, Mandi and Kangra were invited to perform folk dances at different times.

Besides Dr. Habibi, the Choodeshwar cultural group included famous folk singers Ramlal Verma, Bimla Chauhan, Ami Chand, Jitendra, Nishant, Devi Ram, Sohanlal, Narendra, Aman, Anuja, Priya, Rekha, Kiran, Preeti, Surendra, Rajesh and other folk artists.
