Sikandar Kumar sought information from the Union AYUSH Minister about the AYUSH schemes running in Himachal

Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikandar Kumar today sought information from the Union AYUSH Minister through the Parliament about the AYUSH schemes running in Himachal Pradesh, as well as details of upgradation or establishment of any AYUSH multispecialty hospital or AYUSH health and wellness centre in Himachal Pradesh and efforts made under the National AYUSH Mission in Himachal Pradesh.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) of AYUSH, Pratap Raj Jadhav informed that Ministry of AYUSH is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments including Himachal. Replying to the second question of Dr. Sikander Kumar, Minister of State, Ministry of AYUSH said that public health is a State subject and accordingly upgradation or establishment of AYUSH Multi Specialty Hospital or AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre falls under the purview of the concerned State Territory Government. However, Ministry of AYUSH has sanctioned 02 units of Integrated AYUSH Hospitals in Kullu and Mandi districts as per the provisions of NAM Scheme and has also provided assistance for operationalization of 740 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AYUSH) by upgrading the existing AYUSH dispensaries as per the proposals received from the Government of Himachal Pradesh through State Annual Action Plans. He further informed that as per the proposals received through SAP from the State Government of Himachal Pradesh under NAM, from 2014-15 to 2023-24, Ministry of AYUSH has released grant-in-aid of Rs 149.97 crore as Central share for implementation of various approved activities as per the provisions of NAM guidelines.
Dr. Sikander Kumar asked the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare whether the medical facilities available at AIIMS Bilaspur are inadequate to meet the needs of the people of Himachal Pradesh and what is the total amount allocated to AIIMS Bilaspur for its development in the last three years. He asked what improvements have been made in the last two years and the current year to provide medicines and other facilities to the patients? Has the government taken any steps to improve the facilities provided to the patients?
Responding to the queries of Dr. Sikander Kumar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel informed that AIIMS Bilaspur has been established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana to cater to the needs of patients of the state and its surrounding areas with a 750 bed capacity hospital. This institute has 35 functional departments and the patient care services provided by this institute include OPD, IPD, Emergency, Laboratory Services, Radio Diagnosis, Radio Therapy, Specialty Clinic, Natal, ICU, Pediatric ICU, Blood Bank, Pharmacy etc. She informed that in the last three years, a total grant assistance of Rs 314.38 crore has been provided to AIIMS Bilaspur under PMSSY. She further informed that other important services including Himcare and Ayushman Bharat schemes have been implemented in AIIMS Bilaspur.
