Shimla choke 11 days ahead of PM Rally 

If you are planning to rush Shimla to avoid heatwave it is not right time as this capital town already choked for May 31 Prime Minister Modi rally at Ridge ground and local commuters are facing extreme hardships to reach their destination. The town is already become police fort as reserved batalion of forces were already deployed like Curfew here and moreover highest number of tourists are already in the town. On Friday Shimla town saw traffic jam for hours as one could not able to travel two or three kilometre in two hours. A health staff member who is bond to attend her duty at 0930 in morning said that she got trapped in traffic between Bioleaganj and old ISBT for two hours. The Tourists who are supposed to come  for this weekend and next should avoid travel town as Ridge, Mall road are already convert into rally ground and SPG and local police is already taken gaurds of town. Karuna Thakur a local resident said that state government should declare office and Educational Institutions close, if it wants to bring 50000 BJP workers here for PM rally,  moreover it witnessing around 1.50 lakh Tourist footfall everyday. The town have very limited parking capacity to park about 5000 to 6000 Vehicles all road are already witnessing traffic jams. Shimla is known for poor vehicular traffic as its roads are marrow and poorly managed. All internal roads between Kenedy choke to CTO, Chhotu Shimla to Shelychoke, Rajbhavan to Richmond and Sanjouli to IGMC are restricted and partly sealed roads likely to be kept reserved for VVIP. It would be hericulan task to cross the Ridge ground as it was mainly dedicated for rally as chairs and bericards are already put in place by state government here. It also going to lost its natural beauty as huge hoarding to be placed on the Mall roads and Ridge for the event. The tourist or People planing to come Shimla may have other good choice to rush Manali, Keylong, Leh and Ladhak and Dalhousie, Chail, Kufri via Chail, Narkanda via Chail or Kinnaur. But congestion of traffic could not be ruled out in such places but all are cool and peaceful compared to Shimla which is full of noise, crowd, dull and most costly  these days  without any recreation, charms and even most of its hotel, guest- house and Homestay units are full  to  capacity. The rough estimate of even police and security force during next two weeks would ten thousand . The Weather condition likely to be not conducive as thunderstrom and windstorm expected to hit the town. It is hard time to visit town and local too as Poltical event is scheduled to held here. A Hotel owner Suresh told us that  three tourism  seasons have been wasted in state. in 2019 was Lok Sabha Election year 2020 and 2021 affected by Covid pandemic and 2022 may be ruined by the Vidhan sabha elections and MC polls as Shimla town become hot beds of politicians, he added.” It is not right place for the next fortnight though everyone want to be here.” Mr Kuldeep Singh said adding that If one could have choice he should work from home as most of time is being wasted i traffic. Mr Aman Rajta a local residents said that two hours in morning and each in evening should be kept reserved for traffic if one want to travel ten km roads to office and working places. The toadler who could not see the door of school for last three years may have tough time if their walking or road distance to school is four to ten km. The hue and cry is made by the local residents to not allow Poltical rally in choked town however politician do it to create crowd in such location as normaly five to ten thousand people remained in the market place of Shimla Mall road and Ridge. Security agencies undermined the threat perception occurred on new year function on Night of December 2021. The police vacated mall roads and Ridge had asked the new year revelers and Tourist to return their hotels and home as Ridge ground was not safe and secured venue. It is worthwhile to mention that despite the fact and media warning to not host big rally at Ridge ground state government finalize the venue after getting nod from SPG a government spokesperson confirmed. Shimla have about two to three lakh local population more over one to two lakh  commuters daily vist town from nearby thirty to forty kilometre periphery. About 2400 hotels the town have bedding capacity of 45000 people but being commercial and business centre number of people travel town from its periphery to attend office, school and business etc.
