Sharp exchanges between ruling & opposition benches in the paper leak case
On the Third day of the monsoon session, sharp exchanges occurred between the members of the ruling and opposition benches over the paper leak cases in the State Selection Commission Hamirpur and delay of resulting in a number of posts being delayed due to a prolonged probe into the matter.
The issue figures during the question hours on Wednesday when the leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur insisted the government to respond on the burning issue of delay of results in many postcodes conducted by the former Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission which was now closed down by the Congress Government.
Replying to a volley of supplementary queries raised by opposition leader Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that Labour and Employment Minister Dhani Ram Shandil has given a detailed reply on the issue already however if members still insist he explained the burning issue of paper leak in the HPSSC he is ready to respond each and every query. CM intervening in the query said that the party came into power with the promise to provide employment to five lakh unemployed and the government never deviated from the promise.
He said that a new module is being devised to track the real number of unemployed and employed youth on the analogy of advanced nations as the data available with the labor department need to be verified. He accepted that the government could not announce the result of various codes as question papers of HPSSC were sold. He said that the leader of the opposition should know that the SSC was disbanded as it was found that question papers were sold for a number of postcodes. A committee was immediately constituted on 28 -3-2023 and all the results of the examination were handed over to the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission to further announce them.
”In the last five years, BJP allowed the racket of corruption to bloom but Congress Government did not stop to the first case of paper leak as FIRs were also lodged against culprits were found involved in the other postcodes as the paper was also sold. A Deepak Shanan committee gave its report and a new selection board is being constituted. It is our duty to provide employment to the youth, he added that this year government would provide employment avenues to thousands of youths. We have already announced the result of postcode 329 and the result of other codes will be declared ensuring the postcode was not sold.
Chief Minister said that a total of 14 postcode question papers were leaked 65 people are behind the bar and 26 touts are being apprehended. Our Government is also responsible for employees and the government is not cheating anyone the government is not telling lies but it is improvising the rotten system.
Earlier to this leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur wanted to know how many new jobs were provided by this government in ten months tenure. He said that nine months have gone after the winding up of HPSSC Hamirpur but no solution was found. He questioned the delayed in the announcing results of other postcodes. He said that 3000 candidates who have appeared in the examination are moving from pillar to post seeking to declare their results. He said that the Government should not victimize the innocent candidates who are not responsible for the paper leak case at all.
Labour and Employment Minister D R Shandil said that eight lakh unemployed candidates in the employment exchange in the state. The unemployment rate in the state is 4.1 percent which is at par with the employment percentage of the country. Nine job fairs and 62 placement programs are organized in the state. The campus placement and employment fair are organized to ensure employment avenues at the institutional level. He said that in each department including Health, Public Works, and state public sectors, employment is being provided to the unemployed youth. Earlier asking the query Congress member Kewal Singh Pathania said that a Paper leak occurred during the previous BJP rule however examinations were conducted for 20 codes but the result was not announced.
Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania stated this question took 40 minutes of the question hours and if more questions on the issue should be brought up by the member by giving separate notices which he would allow. Members of treasury benches tried to corner the opposition in this issue by blaming the BJP rule for the menace and cheating the youths during the entire five years.
