Seven convictions in NDPS cases in last week by Courts
Himachal Pradesh Police claimed that during the last week, seven cases of the ND&PS Act decided by the courts ended in conviction as per the official communique of HP police.
A police spokesperson sharing the details of each case said that rigorous Imprisonment for 12 years with a Fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- was imposed on accused Khem Chand Son of Sh. Dola Ram R/o village Tharvi, Tehsil, PS Anni, Shyam Lal S/o Sh. Hari Chand R/o village Noultha, District Panipat, Haryana, Joginder Singh S/o Sh. Randhir, village Dhar, District Panipat, Haryana, Virender Singh S/o Sh.Mahasin R/o village Noultha, PS Israna, District Panipat & Rakesh Kumar S/o Sh. Budhi Singh R/o Deemt P.O Jaion, Tehsil Anni, District Kullu by the Special Judge. Kinnaur Division at Rampur vide judgement dated 27.04.2023 On 08.08.2021 U/S 20,29 ND&PS Act case was registered in Police Station Anni, District Kullu. In this case, a charge sheet was filed in the Court on 23.10.2021.
RI for 10 years with a Fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- was imposed on accused Rakesh Kumar S/o Sh. Budhi Singh R/o Deemt PO Jaion, Tehsil Anni, District Kullu by the Special Judge-II Kinnaur Division at Rampur vide judgement dated 27.04.2023 in case FIR No. 02/2022 dated 02.01.2022 U/S 20 ND&PS Act registered in Police Station Brow, District Kullu. In this case, the charge sheet was filed in the Court on 19.03.2022. A fine of Rs. 10,000/- was imposed on accused Manish Negi S/o Sh. Prakash Chand, VPO Sungra, Tehsil Nichar, District Kinnaur by the CJM Kinnaur vide judgement dated 25.04.2023 in case FIR No. 24/2021 dated 23.02.2021U/S 20 ND&PS Act registered in Police Station B/Nagar, District Kinnaur. In this case, the charge sheet was filed in the Court on 16.03.2021.
RI for 05 years with Fine Rs. 25,000/- was imposed on accused Kailash Thakur S/o Dalip Singh r/o Bambal, Tehsil & PS Shillai Distt. Sirmour HP by the ADJ, Paonta Sahib vide judgement dated 27.04.2023 in case FIR No. 411/2023 dated 22.12.2013 U/S 20 ND&PS Act registered in Police Station Paonta Sahib, District Sirmour. In this case, the charge sheet was filed in the Court on 13.05.2014.
RI for 18 Months with a Fine of Rs. 18,000/- was imposed on accused Satish Kumar S/o Sh. Hira Singh R/o Village Dadol, PO Meramasit, Tehsil Sundernagar, District Mandi, HP by the District & Session Court Mandi vide judgement dated 27.04.2023 in case FIR No. 25/2021 dated 03.02.2021 U/S 22 ND&PS Act registered in Police Station Balh, District Mandi. In this case, a charge sheet was filed in the Court on 24.04.2021.
RI for two years with a Fine of Rs. 20,000/- was imposed on accused Hemant S/o Sh. Sita Ram R/o village Diyandali, PO & Tehsil Nerwa, Shimla, HP by the Addl. Session Judge-cum Special Judge CBI, Shimla vide judgement dated 25.04.2023 in case FIR No. 01/2019 dated 01.01.2019 U/S 20 ND&PS Act registered in Police Station Nerwa, District Shimla. In this case, the charge sheet was filed in the Court on 28.02.2019.
RI for two years with a Fine of Rs. 20,000/- was imposed on accused Rahul Salhotra S/o Sh. Rakesh Kumar R/o Tanwar Building, Chishti Niwas, May Villa, PO Summer Hill, Shimla, HP by the Special Judge CBI, Shimla vide judgement dated 27.04.2023 in case FIR No.117/2018 dated 18.12.2018 U/S 21 ND&PS Act registered in Police Station New Shimla. In this case, the charge sheet was filed in the Court on 23.02.2019.
