SDM Kotkhai narrowly escapes an LPG Cylinder blast
Subdivision Magistrate Kotkhai narrowly escaped an LPG blast at midnight and suffered injuries. Police sources confirmed that the mishap occurred in the residence of SDM at Kotkhai, about 80 km from here.
SDM Ashwani Kumar Sharma suffered burn injuries after an LPG cylinder explosion in the Jasta Building, Kotkhai Bazar at around 0315 hrs on Friday.
In the statement given to the police, the SDM said that at around 3 o’clock in the night, when he woke up from sleep to drink hot water and tried to turn on the gas stove, suddenly the entire kitchen caught fire due to which the entire floor got engulfed in fire.
The impact of the LPG blast was so high that the doors and glass windows of the house were damaged under its impact He was injured in the accident. With the help of neighbors, the inferno in the kitchen and cylinder were brought under control.
