Schools in Solan to Remain Closed Until June 4 Due to Heatwave Advisory

District Magistrate Manmohan Sharma issued the directive following a heatwave advisory from the Indian Meteorological Department. The advisory warned of extreme heat and dry weather conditions, prompting the administration to extend the school closures as a precautionary measure.

In response, the Deputy Director of Higher Education has also supported the decision, advising that all educational institutions scheduled to open on May 30 should remain closed until June 4. This extension aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students during the harsh weather conditions.

While students are not required to attend, the orders stipulate that teachers and non-teaching staff must still be present at their respective schools. These measures are effective immediately and will be enforced to mitigate the risks posed by the extreme temperatures.

The administration’s prompt action underscores its commitment to safeguarding the health of the district’s students and educational community during this period of intense heat.
