Satya Chauhan mother of former Mayor Sanjay Chauhan died yesterday, donates her body to IGMC
Smt Satya Chauhan Mother of former Mayor Sanjay Chauhan died after illness at Shimla on Sunday.
According to Sr Medical Superintendent Dr Rahul Rao dead body of Smt Satya Chauhan(84) was donated to the Department of Anatomy, IGMC, Shimla today.
Dr Rao said that the body was donated as per the will of the deceased for the Nobel cause. The body was brought by his son Sanjay Chauhan and family members.
The deceased Smt Satya Chauhan died on 31-12-2023 at 10:50 AM having a Natural death. She was a social worker and member of the All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA). Smt Satya Chauhan was registered under Deh Daan Samiti in the Department of Anatomy, IGMC vide serial no. 129, dated 12-05-2015.
This is the eighth body received under Deh Daan Samiti. The first donor was of Sh. Baldev Verma s/o Sh Jagar Singh resident of Village Bhangari P.O. Chokar, Distt Sirmour, and second body was of Sh. Jiya Lal Patiyal resident of Village Kheel Baneser, P.O. Kumarhatti, Distt Solan.
Deh Daan Samiti of IGMC Shimla is having a tremendous response and to date, more than 437 volunteers have pledged their bodies.
The Deh Daan Samiti was registered under H.P. Society Registration Act 2006 (Act no. 25 of 2006) No. 168/2008 dated 31-10-2008.
Dr Rao appealed to all and everyone to come forward for mass awareness and registration which is a very noble cause.
Donating the human body achieves a very big goal in medical research. education of medical, and dental students and other paramedic courses of the institution.
The Government provides Rs 5000/- for the transportation of the deceased from the site of death to the institution.
It is appealed that all the volunteer donor attendants note that the body be brought to the department within 24 hours to avoid decomposition because once decomposition starts body can’t be embalmed and preserved.
