Sankat Mochan temple starts bhandara on green pattals
Preparations have begun to distribute Bhandara to devotees on green pattals made from Tor leaves at Shri Sankat Mochan Temple in Shimla district. The devotees have shown great enthusiasm for receiving bhandara on these pattals.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap mentioned that this is the second temple in the city where bhandara is being served on Tor leaves. Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission, the District Rural Development Authority has assigned the capable Cluster Level Federation Basantpur, operating in the Sunni section, to this task.
The deputy commissioner also stated that the district administration plans to serve bhandara on pattals in all temples of the district. The first phase began at Taradevi Temple on July 14, 2024. Now, in the second phase, Bhandara is being served on leaves at Sankat Mochan Temple. The next step will be to serve bhandara at Jakhu Temple.
The capable Federation is providing 4,000 pattals for use at Sankat Mochan Temple. The deputy commissioner emphasized that the district administration is fully committed to strengthening the rural economy and providing employment opportunities to self-help groups.
