Rohtak’s Somveer won the big one and Nonu wrestler won the small Mali
The traditional Stron Devta Shanol Mela was celebrated with great joy at Kufar Johar Thanoga near Rajgarh. Fair committee chief Shekhar Sharma said that the fair began with the traditional worship of the deity Stron. Thousands of people from the area attended the fair. Thereafter, the sacred stick of the deity was brought to the fair site along with musical instruments.
He told that wrestling and cultural programs were the main attractions of the fair. In wrestling, the big prize of Rs. 51 thousand was won by Somveer of Rohtak by defeating Ashish of Chandigarh. While the small prize of Rs. 31 thousand was won by Nonu wrestler by defeating Ajaydeep. Similarly, the prize of Rs. 11 thousand kept for the wrestlers of Himachal was won by Chetan of Bilaspur by defeating Rajneesh of Rajgarh. On this occasion, famous folk singers Parasram Ghalib and Sushil Bhrigu along with other artists entertained the people who came to the fair by presenting cultural programs.
District Cooperative Cell Coordinator and former Vice President of Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank Solan Yashpal Singh Thakur attended the fair as the chief guest and announced to give 51 thousand to the fair committee. While the special guest Pravesh Chauhan, a commission agent from Delhi Ghazipur, gave 31 thousand rupees to the fair committee.
Fair committee secretary Ved Prakash Sharma welcomed all the people who came to the fair and gave information about the ancient importance of the fair. Fair committee general secretary Pramod Pundir, Praveen Sharma, Ranjot Thakur and other officials were present on this occasion.
