Rohit Kumar from Shahpur sacrificed his life while serving Indian Army on China border in Arunachal

A soldier hailing from Himachal Pradesh, aged 24, has sacrificed his life while serving on the China border. Rohit Kumar, a young soldier from the Gram Panchayat Lanj in the Shahpur assembly constituency, was on duty along the China border in Arunachal Pradesh when tragedy struck. Engaged in patrolling with his team, Rohit encountered an unfortunate incident where he slipped and fell into a deep ditch. Fellow army soldiers worked tirelessly to rescue him from the trench, transporting him to an army hospital in an injured state. Regrettably, despite medical efforts, Rohit succumbed to his injuries, leading to a wave of grief in his household and the surrounding area.

Recruited into the Indian Army in 2018, Rohit was currently serving in the RT battalion, stationed in the snowy mountains along the China border in Arunachal Pradesh. Only two months ago, he had returned from a leave. The untimely demise of Rohit, who dreamed of getting married, has left his mother and sister devastated. Rohit, draped in the tricolor, bid farewell at a young age.

Rohit’s mother, a daily wage worker involved in MNREGA, worked tirelessly to raise her two children. Her hard work paved the way for Rohit’s journey in the army. Sadly, the aspirations of a supportive son in her old age were cut short as Rohit met an untimely end in the embrace of mother India. Meanwhile, Rohit’s sister is currently receiving coaching in Chandigarh, and the mortal remains of the fallen soldier are expected to reach the village by Wednesday evening.

Expressing profound sorrow, Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania assured that the martyr’s family would receive all possible assistance from the government. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also extended condolences to the grieving family of the late soldier Rohit Kumar.
