Retirement age of Class IV employees should be increased to 60

The first state-level meeting of the State Youth Class IV Employees Union, Health Department, Himachal Pradesh, was held at the Health and Family Welfare Institute, Parimahal, under the chairmanship of President Rakesh Sharma. A strong demand was made to the government to increase the retirement age of Class IV employees from 58 to 60 years.
President Rakesh Sharma and General Secretary Rajiv Ramoul said in a joint statement that in many health institutions of the state, Class IV employees are made to work 12 hours at night, which is against the government service rules. The union has demanded from the department head not to deploy Class IV employees on night duty. Apart from this, the demand has also been made to promote Class IV employees who have completed five years of regular service to the posts of lab assistant, plaster assistant, nursing orderly and other related posts, and to provide priority in medical services to Class IV employees of the department and their families and to organize special annual check-up camps.
During the meeting, the organization’s future work was discussed in detail, and the format of future programs and activities was unanimously approved. On this occasion, Shamsuddin, the organization secretary of Sirmaur district, was honored. He is retiring on February 28th.
The meeting was mainly attended by Senior Vice President Anil Kumar, Joint Secretary Pawan Thakur, Treasurer Shashi Sharma, Chief Advisor Ramesh, Shyam Lal Vice President Raksha, Chaman, Ravinder, Secretary Naresh, Trilok, Shamsuddin, members Bimla, Krishna, Ishra, Raja Ram, Suresh, Subhash, Rakesh Mehta, Prem, Reena, Khemchand along with Shimla District President Narendra, Sirmaur District President Ramswaroop and Presidents of other five districts and the executive of Shimla District.
