RD Dhiman got post retirement appointment as CIC

Himachal Chief Secretary RD Dhiman  appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) by the government he would join after supernation from the post of Chief Secretary on December 31, 2022. The name of Mr Dhiman was cleared by Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur.   The government may soon issue an notification of posting Dhiman as new CIC. The post of CIC in the state is lying vacant after the retirement of former CIC Narendra Chauhan on June 30.    RD Dhiman is retiring on 31 December.  In the second week of June, the Jairam government had invited applications for the post of CIC.  Then more than 51 claimants applied.    In the second week of June, the Jairam government had invited applications for the post of CIC.  Then more than 51 claimants applied.  The former government appointed S SS Guleria as Information  Commissioner in the meeting of the High Power Committee on 25th June, but the Chief Minister postponed the appointment of the CIC. It was after seven months that state got panel of two members Information Commission.
