Congress President and Member of Parliament Pratibha Singh has urged the Central Government to declare the heavy losses caused by rains and floods in the state as a national calamity. There has been a loss of life and property. Expressing his condolences to the affected families, she has prayed to God for the peace of the departed souls.

Talking to the media here today, Pratibha Singh said that she has demanded special financial help from the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Finance Minister to the state to deal with this calamity. She said that the state is going through a big challenge at this time. The government is fully engaged in relief and rescue operations. She said that he has full hope that the Center will provide special financial assistance to the state to deal with this serious challenge.

Pratibha Singh said that many houses have collapsed due to heavy rains, and hundreds have lost their lives. In many parts of the state, including Summerhill, Fagli, and Mamlig in Solan district, more than 50 people have become victims of premature death due to landslides, which is very serious and sad. Wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, he said that the state Congress government is providing all possible help to all the affected people.

Pratibha Singh said that soon as the weather opens, she will visit her parliamentary constituency Mandi. She said that she was about to visit Mandi on August 13, but had to postpone her visit due to road blockage due to heavy rains. She said that she is in full touch with the district administration of Mandi, Kullu, and is taking full information about the situation. She said that the district administration is doing rescue and relief work in a good way.
