Pratibha Singh congratulated women on the enactment of a one-third reservation law for women in Parliament
State Congress President and MP Pratibha Singh has congratulated women on the enactment of a one-third reservation law for women in Parliament and Assemblies. She has said that Congress has always worked for women’s rights and their empowerment. She said that it was Congress that had raised the voice for women’s reservation in Parliament and Assemblies. 1989, the then Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Rajiv Gandhi had enshrined reservation for women in municipal bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions.
Today, while addressing as the chief guest in a review meeting of the State Mahila Congress at Rajiv Bhawan, State Congress Headquarters, Pratibha Singh praised the work of the State Mahila Congress and said that Mahila Congress has a huge contribution in strengthening the organization. She said that women deserve a lot of congratulations for the way they are fulfilling the responsibilities of their homes as well as the responsibilities of the organization with full honesty.
Pointing to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the country, Pratibha Singh said that the kind of dictatorship going on in the BJP government in the country is a matter of great concern. She said that the people of the country are troubled by rising inflation and unemployment. She said that we have to go among the people with these issues. She said that the people of the state have given their full majority to the Congress. A popular Congress government has been formed in the state. All this has happened only because of the hardworking workers of the party.
Pratibha Singh said that now there is a huge responsibility on the hardworking workers of the party in the Lok Sabha elections. All the people of the party will have to enter the election field with unity from now on. She expressed hope that Congress will have a landslide victory on all four Lok Sabha seats of the state and that Congress India coalition government will be formed in the country.
Earlier, State Mahila Congress President Zainab Chandel said in her address that whatever instructions she gets from the State High Command and the Central High Command, Mahila Congress has been following them with full devotion and honesty. She said that he is happy that the leadership of the Congress Party in the state is with a woman who is also our MP at the Centre. She said that whatever guidelines she will get in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, she will fulfill them with full devotion and honesty. In the meeting of the State Mahila Congress, Pratibha Singh was congratulated on becoming a permanent invitee member of the All India Congress Working Committee and expressed gratitude to the Congress High Command for her appointment.
Apart from State Mahila Congress officials, District Presidents, and Block Presidents, officials of many districts and blocks were present in the meeting.
