State Congress President and MP Pratibha Singh has called upon the district presidents and block presidents of the party to make the celebrations of December 11 in Dharamshala historic on the completion of one year of the Congress government. She has said that even though this one year tenure of the state government has been full of challenges, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the government has successfully overcome these challenges.
Today, while presiding over a meeting of district and block presidents at the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan, Pratibha Singh said that the Congress government has fulfilled its first guarantee by restoring the old pension of the employees. He said that the government is also moving ahead rapidly in the direction of employing the youth. He said that Congress fulfills what it says. The Congress government will fulfill all its guarantees in a phased manner.
Pratibha Singh asked to gear up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He said that Congress is completely strong in the state. She said that she will soon visit all the districts of the state and communicate directly with the workers. He said that efforts will be intensified to ensure that the party’s hardworking workers get respect in the government. She said that a meeting will be held in this regard with Chief Minister Sukhu and state affairs in-charge Rajiv Shukla.
Earlier, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that we do not need to be distracted by the election results held in other states. He said that the Congress organization in the state is very strong and so is the state government. He said that during the previous BJP rule in the state, Congress had won the Mandi parliamentary seat as well as three assembly by-elections. He said that after that last year, Congress has ousted BJP from power by winning the assembly elections with a landslide victory.
Vikramaditya Singh said that in any political party, workers are the backbone of the party and it is on their strength that any party comes to power. He said that it is being ensured that the workers get full respect. He said that the state has faced a huge disaster. He said that the Public Works Department alone has suffered a loss of more than Rs 5000 crore. He said that the state government is carrying out relief and reconstruction works with its resources.
Vikramaditya Singh asked to enter the field in a planned manner for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and give a befitting reply to the BJP’s propaganda.
State Congress General Secretary Organization Rajneesh Kimta said that all the party officials have a huge responsibility to make the function to be held in Dharamshala on 11th December historic. He said that the one year of the government has been remarkable under the able leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. The government is moving forward with its new thinking. He said that the Congress leadership and government in the state are very strong and are moving forward with strength. He urged all the party officials to work unitedly and said that all the block presidents should send the list of their respective booth committees to the State Congress office. Apart from this, organize meetings of the party’s journal house and general meetings in all the blocks and send its complete report to the state Congress office soon.
All the district presidents, block presidents and heads of leading organizations of the state were present in the meeting. All these people also expressed their views in the meeting.
