Pratibha demands release of additional funds to Central Zone Mandi PWD

State Congress President and Member of Parliament, All India Congress Working Committee, Pratibha Singh, while discussing with Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu about the damage caused by the natural calamity in the Mandi parliamentary constituency, has demanded the release of additional funds to Central Zone Mandi of the Public Works Department. She has said that due to heavy rains and landslides in Mandi parliamentary constituency, the roads have been badly damaged, therefore there is a great need for additional funds to speed up the reconstruction works.

While meeting Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu at Oak Over today, Pratibha Singh while giving information about her visit to her parliamentary constituency Mandi said that landslides have caused a lot of damage in Mandi parliamentary constituency. She said that due to heavy landslides between Pandoh and Kullu, the National Highway has been badly affected. Link roads have also been badly damaged. In many places the roads have been completely destroyed, which need to be reconstructed soon. She said that people in rural areas especially children going to school were facing a lot of difficulties. Many school buildings have also come under threat due to this disaster.

Informing the Chief Minister about the huge loss in the Mandi parliamentary constituency, Pratibha Singh said that she has demanded the Central Government to restore the Mandi Pandoh Kullu National Highway soon. She said that she has also proposed to the central government to extend and strengthen the alternative route to Kullu via Kamad Katindi, Kataula Bajaura, and Pandoh road from Chalchok so that the road connectivity of Kullu can be maintained throughout the year. She said that for this she has demanded to provide CIRF, Central Road Infrastructure Fund.

Pratibha Singh, while discussing many issues related to the organization, said that the hardworking workers associated with the organization should be given some responsibility in the government soon. She said that the organization is very strong in the state. She said that even during this calamity, the organization is helping the affected people with solidarity. She said that the Congress has also set up a disaster management center at Rajiv Bhavan, which is taking feedback from all the blocks about the damages caused across the state and is helping the administration in all possible ways.
