Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan

Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan is a voluntary and contributory Pension Scheme for Unorganized Workers for entry age of 18 to 40 years with monthly income of Rs.15000 or less. Any unorganized worker in the age group of 18-40 years, whose job is casual in nature , such as (home based workers, street vendors, brick kiln, cobblers, rag pickers, domestic workers, washer-men, Rickshaw Pullers, agricultural workers, construction workers, handloom workers, leather workers, asha workers, anganbadi workers, mid-day meal workers etc.) with monthly income less than Rs 15,000/- and not covered under any statutory social security schemes such as National Pension Scheme (NPS), Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Scheme, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization Scheme and is not an income tax payee is eligible to join this pension scheme. The monthly contribution ranges from Rs. 55/- to Rs. 200/- per month depending on the age of the worker. Beneficiary has to contribute till he attains the age 60 years. A beneficiary will get a minimum monthly pension of Rs. 3000/-. After his/ her death, spouse will receive a monthly family pension which is 50 % of the pension.

As per the directions of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, Pension Week/Pension Saptah under the said scheme will be celebrated w.e.f. 7th March to 13th March 2022. All the Deputy Commissioners in Himachal Pradesh have been requested to conduct the meeting of District Level Implementation Committees within their respective districts being the Chairperson of said committee. Meetings have been conducted in some districts for monitoring the implementation of activities in the Pension Week. All DLICs have also been allotted targets for pension week.  DCs have also been requested to conduct IEC activities so that maximum unorganized workers could be enrolled with the said pension scheme.

A Video Conference with all Labour Officers was also held under the Chairmanship of Labour Commissioner, H.P. during which directions were passed to achieve the enrolment target of 20,000 eligible workers that has been set by the MoLE, GoI, New Delhi
