Pledge to protect the Constitution was taken today at Rajiv Bhawan
A pledge to protect the Constitution was taken at a program held today at Rajiv Bhawan, the state Congress headquarters, to mark Constitution Day. Party leaders and workers also offered flowers to a photograph of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution.
Shimla Municipal Corporation Mayor Surendra Chauhan said on this occasion that
Our Constitution is the supreme law of the country, which provides all citizens with social, economic, and political justice, freedom of thought and expression, the right to religion and worship, and equality of opportunity. He said that today some political parties in the country are trying to weaken it, and Congress will never tolerate this. He said that the way the ruling party is stealing votes, weakening constitutional institutions, and misusing them is highly condemnable.
Former State Congress General Secretary Devendra Bushhari said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar gave the country a new direction by drafting the Constitution and granting equal rights to its citizens. Unfortunately, today the BJP government at the center is weakening the Constitution by tampering with its fundamental spirit.
