An inspirational drug de-addiction workshop was organized today under the auspices of the Anti-Drug Committee at the Senior Secondary School, Nalti, in the Hamirpur Assembly constituency. Rajiv Rana, State Chairman of the Unorganized Workers and Employees Congress (KKC) and Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, attended as a special guest and delivered the message of drug de-addiction to the students.

In his motivational address, Rajiv Rana said –

> “Addiction destroys a person’s talent, energy, and future. The greatest force in society is the youth, and if this force stays away from drugs, the commitment to make Himachal drug-free will surely be fulfilled.”

He further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, the state government is taking concrete steps for eradication of drug addiction, but the real success of this campaign is possible only when every youth comes forward and makes it a mass movement.

Rana asked the students to spread the message of drug de-addiction among their friends and society and give right direction to their talent through sports, education and social service.

The programme was attended by Mrs. Sangeeta Khurana, Member, State Anti-Drug Committee, and Police Station Incharge Mr. Kulwant Singh, who has adopted this school.

All the guests highlighted the ill effects of drug addiction and called upon the youth to stay away from drugs and adopt positive thinking in life.

On this occasion, the school principal, teachers, students, parents, social workers and local dignitaries were present in large numbers and together they resolved to continue their efforts towards building a drug-free society.
